Daquisha "Shic" Johnson

Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this message finds you well, though I must admit, it comes with a heavy heart and a plea for urgent support for someone very dear to us: Daquisha "Shic" Johnson.

Last Thursday, Shic's life took a sudden and terrifying turn when she was rushed to Covenant Medical hospital in Lubbock. The culprit? Acute liver failure, a cruel complication of her battle with rheumatoid arthritis. Our hearts sank as we learned the severity of her condition and the urgent need for an emergency liver transplant.

Thanks to the swift actions of medical professionals, Shic was transferred to UT Southwestern in Dallas, where she was placed at the top of the transplant list. Her situation was dire, and the doctors wasted no time. On Sunday evening, she underwent a grueling surgery that, thankfully, was successful.

But the road to recovery is long and arduous. Shic now faces the daunting task of rebuilding her strength and reclaiming her health. As she embarks on this journey, there's someone by her side who needs our support just as much as she does: her daughter, Brianna. Brianna will be Shic's primary caregiver during her recovery. Additionally, your support will alleviate the financial strain on Brianna as she takes off of work on the role of caregiver and focuses solely on her mother's well-being.

This is where we come in. We're launching a GoFundMe campaign to rally support for Shic and Brianna during this challenging time. Your contributions will help cover the costs of lodging, transportation, nutritious meals, medications, and other essentials that will aid Shic's recovery. They currently reside in Lubbock but will need to remain in the Dallas area for the next 30 to 90 days, in which they will need financial support in doing so..

Shic has always been there for us, offering a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and a heart full of love. Now it's our turn to return the favor.
