DaQuawn Bruce' Road to Recovery

DaQuawn Bruce just returned home to Chicago after interning in the U.S. Senate through a prestigious internship program in Washington, DC. He only had a couple weeks between his Capitol Hill internship and starting Graduate school. On Friday, August 10th, he was in his front yard in Riverdale, Chicago with family when he was hit by a stray bullet from a drive-by shooter.

The bullet entered in his lower abdomen traveled across his abdominal wall and fractured his pelvis. Fortunately, no vital organs were hit or damaged. Over the last few days he has been in a lot of pain but by the Grace of God, he was quickly discharged from the hospital. DaQuawn is expected to make a full recovery even though the bullet will remain inside of him. He is in physical therapy to learn how to walk again.

DaQuawn is set to begin a graduate program in just a few weeks but needs to get a new apartment on the first floor that is the close walking distance to class. His family is also in need of assistance with medical bills and physical therapy cost. Thank you for your help in providing the funds to aid DaQuawns road to recovery!
