We (the Zinda family) have found ourselves in a heart-breaking situation where we need to reach out to all friends and family through this GoFundMe for 15-year-old Michael, Travis Zinda’s son and Lauren, mother of Michael.

On 7/25, it was discovered via MRI that Michael has a brain tumor located in the basal ganglia portion of his brain. After subsequent bloodwork and spinal tap, the tumor was further identified as a non-germinomatous germ cell tumor. Treatment will require radiation, chemo and other therapies, some of which will require travel to and from Seattle.

No parent(s) can be adequately prepared mentally, emotionally, or financially for such a life-changing turn of events. There will undoubtedly be many unforeseen expenses that arise since Lauren will only be able to work sporadically. Travel expenses for treatments and the needs of her family are already mounting.
