Anyone that has met Daphne would know what a wonderful dog she is. She has the most calm and sweet nature, has been a therapy dog through Lort Smith where she visited nursing homes, and is just a beautiful dog, including her dyed pink tail.
Daphne has provided many people with love and affection, but she now needs your help
Daphne has suffered a traumatic head injury, and is still at the vet. We are hoping and praying that she pulls through, but in the meantime the vet bills are increasing, and as it was a public holiday, there is a 30% surcharge. We would greatly appreciate any donation, no matter how small, so that Daphne can keep fighting. It is not her time
On 26/12/23 at 2am, I got a call from the emergency vet letting us know that Daphne had been hit by a car and the police brought her in. I was in shock. In the 7 years we have had Daphne, she has never escaped. We still don't know how she escaped or why, the only guess is she suddenly developed a fear of thunder.
Daphne mostly has injuries to her head, with some bruising on her lungs and a bleeding spleen. Her head injury is pretty severe. She is in a coma, and had a coma score of 4. She had swelling of the brain, was unresponsive and had had a seizure. The prognosis was grave.
At 10pm we got an update that Daphne is doing a bit better! It is still a waiting game to see if she will recover, but there is a tiny bit of hope. She has not had any more seizures, her blood pressure and vitals are stable, the swelling in her brain has reduced and she is off the medication to reduce the swelling, she seems a bit more responsive and is even trying to move. Her coma score is now a 5, which is not fantastic by any means, but it gives us a bit of hope that she may make it
Again, any donation would be greatly appreciated. We know times are tough, so any amount would be amazing.
Please keep Daphne in your thoughts and prayers.
