My dear sweet little 1 year old rescue kitty, Daphne, was likely hit by a car the evening of Friday, Nov 19. She was missing that night but I found her outside the next morning unable to move or walk. Miraculously, she survived the night and somehow dragged herself up my stairs.
The vets determined her right hind leg was badly fractured by her knee, which would require orthopedic surgery by a specialist in the East Bay. The surgery is taking place today, Nov 22. While an immobilized healing time of 8 weeks seems daunting, the vets believe she will make a full recovery and get to live a normal cat life on four legs once again!
Many of you have asked how you can help… Daphne’s medical bills have been substantial, so we would be so grateful for any amount you could donate. Anything helps! ❤️
A little about Daphne: As a 3 month year old kitten, she wandered into an auto shop in Tracy where she was picked up by her foster mom who was getting her car worked on at the shop. Wanting a little friend to quarantine with during 2020, I found her through the rescue center and drove to Tracy to get her.
Daphne is a little firecracker- very energetic and playful, she enjoys hiding under things and jumping out at me, chasing bouncing ping pong balls and wine corks, hunting and eating flies, and snuggling.
She’s been a joy to have around and a savior to some lonely quarantine days. I am grateful for each day I get to spend with her.
