LUZKA-ACCIDENT-SEVERE BRAIN INJURY

 
Hello! I'm Giselle Cardenas, my beautiful and wonderful sister Luz Karime Cárdenas “Luzka” was driving a motorcycle and was brutally run over by a car when leaving her work in a restaurant in South Beach Miami, on May 22 at midnight, she suffered a Severe Brain Trauma, Right femur fracture and other injuries to the rest of the body, leading to a coma from that day until today.
 
She underwent brain surgery for 7 hours, they removed the skull bone on the right side due to the inflammation caused by the strong blow she received to the head, causing her a lot of blood loss and a high risk of dying.
She was in intensive care for two months where she was intubated and later with Tracheostomy. In the third month she was transferred to a Long Term Care Center where she is still in a coma.

She now requires quality care, exams, and scans, also therapies and rehabilitation because this is a very important stage for her recovery, she is now in that place where she is not receiving the care she really needs. She has a pending surgery, she does not have health insurance and the medical and rehabilitation expenses are very expensive and we do not have the financial capacity to have access to everything that she needs now for her long recovery process.

Almost 4 months have passed since the day the police knocked on my door at 3am to tell me that my sister had been the victim of a fatal accident caused by a distracted woman driving at speed and I literally felt myself die. Luzka is my soulmate, my best friend in the world, my life partner, always together and in love with each other. Those who have sisters will know what I'm talking about !!

That has been the most horrible day of my life so far and a huge tragedy and pain for the whole family and more for her son who is devastated. My nephew and I have been unable to work normally for a time since the accident. We have been experiencing very difficult days with multiple issues to resolve. The anguish, the emotional and mental collapse has been very strong for us, which has brought us to a difficult point, we are alone in this and our entire family lives in Colombia. Now this is a cry for help because we need help !!

Luzka is a wonderful human being, an exemplary mother, tireless worker, exceptional daughter, the sister that anyone would wish to have, she is a loving aunt and the best friend in the world.

Lover of exercise, marathons, healthy life, dance, music, the beach and the sea. She has enormous inner strength, she is intelligent, studious, hard-working, honest, loyal, self-taught and super happy, always learning and growing and above all, she is humble and grateful. She is generous and has a heart so big that it does not fit in her chest. Everyone who knows her inevitably loves her!
 
My sister Luzka has only one son (Christian) who is her whole life and her main engine, they have a great relationship !! I have a great mother, a brother and two more sisters, we are a small and humble family but united and loving.

Luzka studied and worked a lot in two jobs because she was developing her dream of launching her brand of women's sportswear that she designs herself, she has been working tirelessly on every detail of that project for the last 5 years and she had little less to go. She dreams of taking her brand high and we are sure that she will because she has the potential to achieve it, she is a tireless warrior (My Favorite Person).
 
She has always dreamed of being independent, improving her quality of life and dedicating more time to herself, her son and her family. She is strong and healthy and full of dreams, her will to live is enormous. She has love and compassion for others, always helping those who need it even if she does not know them. Always with the 10 shirt on for everything, always ready !! and we are sure that she is now fighting for her life and to stay alive. We have an unshakable faith in God and we know that she will be fine, because for God there are no impossibilities !!

Hola! Soy Giselle Cárdenas, mi hermosa y maravillosa hermana Luz Karime  Cárdenas “Luzka” conducía una moto y fue brutalmente atropellada por un auto al salir de su trabajo en un restaurante de South Beach Miami, el día 22 de Mayo a la media noche, sufrió un Trauma Severo Cerebral, Fractura de Fémur derecho y otras heridas en el resto del cuerpo, llevándola a un estado de coma desde ese día hasta hoy.

 

Fue sometida a una cirugía cerebral por 7 horas, removieron el hueso del craneo del lado derecho debido a la inflamación causada por el fuerte golpe que recibió en la cabeza, causándole mucha pérdida de sangre y alto riesgo de morir.

Estuvo en cuidados intensivos por dos meses donde estuvo entubada y posteriormente con Trackeostomia.

Al tercer mes fue trasladada a un Long Term Care Center en donde permanece todavía en estado de coma.

Ella Requiere ahora cuidados de calidad, exámenes, scans. terapias y rehabilitación porque esta es una etapa muy importante para su recuperación y en ese lugar no está recibiendo los cuidados que realmente necesita. Ella tiene una cirugia pendiente, no tiene seguro de salud y los gastos medicos y de rehabilitación son muy costosos y nosotros no tenemos la capacidad financiera para tener acceso a todo lo que ella necesita ahora para su largo proceso de recuperación.

 

Han transcurrido casi 4 meses desde el día que la policía tocó la puerta de mi casa a las 3am para decirme que mi hermana había sido víctima de un accidente fatal causado por una mujer distraída que conducía a alta velocidad y Literalmente me sentí morir. Luzka es mi alma gemela, mi mejor amiga del mundo, mi compañera de toda mi vida, siempre juntas y enamoradas la una de la otra. Las que tienen hermanas sabrán de lo que hablo!!

Ese ha sido hasta ahora el día más horrible de toda mi vida y una enorme tragedia y dolor para toda la familia y mas para su hijo que está desbastado. Mi sobrino y yo estuvimos impedidos para trabajar con normalidad por un tiempo desde el accidente. Han sido dias muy difíciles con multiples asuntos para resolver. La angustia, el derrumbe emocional y mental ha sido muy fuerte para nosotros, lo que nos ha llevado a un punto  complicado y todavia tenemos muchos asuntos para resolver, estamos solos en esto y toda nuestra familia vive en Colombia. Ahora es un grito de auxilio porque necesitamos ayuda!!

 

Luzka es un ser humano maravilloso, una madre ejemplar, trabajadora incansable, hija excepcional, la hermana que cualquier persona desearía tener, es una tía amorosa y la mejor amiga del mundo.

Amante del ejercicio, las maratones, la vida saludable, el baile, la música, la playa y el mar. Ella tiene una enorme fuerza interior, es Inteligente, estudiosa, esforzada, honesta, leal, autodidacta y super alegre, siempre aprendiendo y creciendo y sobre todo es humilde y agradecida. Es generosa y tiene un corazón tan grande que no le cabe en el pecho. Todos los que la conocen la aman inevitablemente!

 

Mi hermana Luzka tiene solo un hijo (Christian) que es su vida entera y su motor principal, ellos tienen una relación grandiosa!! Tenemos una gran mamá, un hermano y dos hermanas más, somos una familia pequeña y humilde pero unida y amorosa.

 

Luzka estudiaba y trabajaba muchísimo en dos trabajos porque estaba desarrollando su sueño de lanzar su marca de ropa deportiva femenina que ella misma diseña, ella ha venido trabajando incansablemente en cada detalle de ese proyecto los últimos 5 años y le faltaba muy poco para llegar. Ella sueña llevar su marca alto y estamos seguros que lo hará  porque tiene el potencial para lograrlo, es una guerrera incansable (Mi persona Favorita).

 

Ella siempre ha soñado ser independiente, mejorar su calidad de vida y dedicarse más tiempo a si misma, a su hijo y a su familia.  Es fuerte y saludable y está llena de sueños, de ganas de vivir, de amor y compasión por el prójimo, siempre ayudando a quien lo necesita aunque no lo conozca. Siempre con la camiseta 10 puesta para todo, siempre lista!! Y estamos seguros que ella ahora está luchando por su vida para quedarse con nosotros. Tenemos una fe inquebrantable en Dios y sabemos que ella estará  bien porque para Dios no hay imposibles!!
