Help Lucinda become a Herzog Rogue
Donation protected
Last Friday I was offered a place at Werner Herzog's Rogue film school. At first I literally didn't believe it, I even dreamed that night that it was all a mistake, but now several days later it's true and I'm so excited.
To apply for a place you submit a five minute piece of film you've directed and write a bit about yourself. Herzog himself decides who's coming and he only takes 65 film makers, from around the world.
I live in London, where I run a project called Shootstraight that engages hard to reach young people in screen acting workshops that lead to the production of short films based on their own improvisations. One of the films I made last year was called 'Quinalbarbitone', and that's the one I sent in.
Quinalbarbitone
Werner Herzog's Rogue film school takes place in Munich this March 18 - 21. The cost for participation is £1100, to be paid by February 26, in just two weeks , and my flight and hotel comes to £400.
I really hope, with your help, I can raise the money in time. If I raise any extra money it will go towards funding Shootstraight workshops and films. I have lists of young people all over London who are hoping for the chance to take part.

Werner Herzog has made some truly amazing films, including 'Fitzcarraldo', 'Aguirre, Wrath of God', 'Encounters at the End of the World' and 'Bad Lieutenant, Port of Call New Orleans'. One of my own absolute favourites is 'The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser'.
My sister bought me Werner Herzog's book 'Of Walking In Ice' for my 33rd birthday. It's the diary of his journey on foot from Munich to Paris in November and December of 1974. I have since enjoyed the knowledge that the very day I was born was a grey and rainy day, and that Werner Herzog saw a sheep die under a tree somewhere in Northern France.
Now I have the opportunity to go and learn from him myself. In Munich. The timing for learning from Werner Herzog couldn't be better for me, as a script for a feature, set in Paris, has come out of the Shootstraight process and it's time to work out what to do next.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you can help me get to Munich next month for Werner Herzog's Rogue Film School that would be AMAZING.
