Danyel Caldwell’s fight to provide and survive

I am you, and this woman is your mother, maybe not yours, but she is someones, this might even be your daughter, she could be your aunt, your niece, your cousin, or she very well could be your best friend, and I promise you, if you met her, you would want her to be. She is all of these things and so much more, to so many of us. The person on the right is the person we all know and love, the most caring, and considerate, loving and devoted woman that anyone would be lucky enough to know, and the person on the left is stricken with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Everyone thinks cancer, doctors, treatment, remission, but unfortunately some of the most beautiful people diagnosed with this disorder find themselves becoming chemo resistant, and transfusion dependent. On top of that they develop infections that require state of art care, at a hospital across country, at Md Anderson, in Houston Texas, where she has been for 3 weeks. She is away from her children, and family that love and care about her more than any of these words will ever begin to describe. Danyel is a 37 year old single mother of 3 beautiful children. Her 15 year old daughter Trinity has helped her mother cope with this debilitating disease in ways no teenager should ever have to normalize, her 14 year old son Thomas has laid in her hospital bed with her and shed so many tears over her diagnosis, and her 3 year old son Johnathon, like most children his age, lacks a filter when expressing his disdain over her bodies inability to put on a pretty face and pretend that she is ok. After a tooth infection that wouldn’t go away with antibiotics and bruises that appeared for no reason, on October 7th 2021, lab tests confirmed our worst nightmare. Danyel is not one to EVER ask for help, she has raised those beautiful children on her own, without any financial support or state assistance, which minimized any likelihood that she had a savings to prepare her for a life of struggles like this. We are asking for any donations to help ease the financial burden that she has been forced to deal with. I know that you think you don’t know who she is, but I promise, you do! She is that person you love, that one that has saved you, that relative, friend, coworker, and confidant, she is the woman you praise not just on Mother’s Day, but everyday.
