Dan was diagnosed with throat cancer in October 2017 and at age 30 the Consultants said he was the youngest he had seen with this particular cancer, he had chemo and radiotherapy which finished at the end of January 2018. In April he had some more scans which showed it had grown and they gave him 3 options,
Option 1: leave it, Option 2: try to remove the cancer but only with a 50% chance of being successful so he took the 3rd option of having a total laryngectomy and had his voice box and all the cancer from his throat removed, leaving him to talk thru a hole in his neck.
They did an x-ray 2 weeks before this and because of shadows on his lungs thought he had pneumonia and gave him loads of anti-biotics to allow him to have the urgent surgery.
Since then he has had almost non stop infections and pain. They finally agreed to give him some more scans and the shadows were still on his lungs and they had grown. So they did biopsies. Unfortunately today they found out the cancer had spread to his lungs. They are deciding on giving the chemo another try but are not hopeful as it didn't help the first time otherwise they are only talking about palliative care.
Dan's only wish is to marry the woman he loves Sasha and who has stood by him thru all of this. They met when they were both full time Carers at a residential home and have been together for 5 years. Dan had to give up work because of the high infection risk and he was really ill. Sasha has been juggling working as a carer and then caring for Dan, but they are struggling financially.
Dan is an amazing person and has for around 10 years been raising money for cancer research mainly at Halloween, when he does the house up and then cancer struck him, making it even more important for him to do it
Any help would be appreciated and mean the world to them.

March 2019, Unfortunately a recent scan shows that the cancer has spread to Dan's adrenal gland and also to his bones in his pelvis, he has just undergone intense radiotherapy for his hips, and at present is spending a week in St Wilfred's hospice to get his pain under control.
May 2019, We have found out it has spread even further, into his liver and further into his bones
June 2019 Dan has decided not to have any more scans or tests and just to enjoy the time he has left with Sasha
Any money left over will go towards IVF treatment in the future and other costs associated with Dan's condition
