Dan’s Nuts!

Dan’s nuts!
. . . and Matt’s a little crazy too. That’s why they’re doing the Sudbury Swimrun Challenge together on July 29th!

Last summer, Daniel Sanford was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and after a whirlwind of tests and consultations he had surgery to remove the cancer. Having been in great shape prior to the surgery, he found it especially frustrating to be laid up in recovery. The only training he was able to do was to have Thistle and Swift pounce on his stomach while he grimaced.
It was during these long dark days of recovery that Dan and his brother decided to take on a new challenge, a new kind of race, in order to help focus on the future . . . A swimrun! Multiple legs of swimming and running, all while tethered to a partner by a ten foot leash! Not a huge scene in the states (yet), but they found a race geographically somewhere reasonably in between Maine and Nebraska, put their money down, and started to train.
Dan recently passed his twelve-month test with flying colors. The cancer is still gone, but he and his family still carry a significant debt accrued from the whole miserable ordeal, which is why the brothers are running this race as a fundraiser.
Please lend a hand, and help Dan and his beautiful family put cancer behind them!
Moreover, any funds raised beyond the goal of $3000 will be donated to the Testicular Cancer Society.
