Dan's Medical Hardship Fundraiser

Dan Albright is a name that many know in the Fargo/Moorhead area and beyond. He is the type of person that has stepped in to help others even if he doesn’t know them well. If his name is mentioned, you will hear people say, oh, he’s such a nice guy, or he helped me with this and that, or he showed up in my life when I was at my lowest and helped me get back up again.

Over the years, Dan has stepped up to volunteer time, money, love, and material items for different fundraisers and organizations. To mention just a few: Kindred Fire and Ambulance, Davenport Fire, Twist of Fait (Fargo), Living Free Jail Chaplains, Open Doors, started and led many recovery groups, Lighthouse Church of Fargo, Service Dogs of America in Judd, Golden Drive to help homeless children, made and delivered food baskets, and so much more.

Besides that, Dan is known as a man of service in Lions Club’s near and far. He has been part of Lion’s Club International for 25 years, Davenport Lions for 22 years, and not only has he been a part of the Roamers 4x4 Lions Club for three years, but he also helped them become a Lions Club. He helped start the Mapleton Lion’s Club too! Dan has been in recovery from addiction for 14 years and has helped numerous people find their way to recovery. He has also volunteered as a Peer Support Specialist in North Dakota to reach even more needy people.

What many don’t know is that in the last few years, he has faced many medical hardships that he has tried to handle on his own, but it has come to a point where he needs our help. Dan has been diagnosed with a barrage of medical issues that requires medication and chemo shots. After being injured at work several years back and dealing with a flesh-eating disease, he could not continue to work. The pain and oxygen intake issues that he still experiences today does not allow him to do what he used to do. He has applied for disability, but that is a long process, and the medical bills, mortgage, and other bills won’t wait for disability.
