Daniel Smart is my "Broski" he was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer in September 2022. Dan is 32 years old and lives in St. Louis, MO. He's kind, shy, stubborn, smart, a dog lover and he likes rocks so much he studied Geology at Iowa State where he went to college.
He's been staying tough as he goes through cancer treatments such as radiation therapy, immunotherapy and chemotherapy. Dan now needs HIPEC chemotherapy and possibly a gastrectomy (removal of his stomach). He lost his health insurance when he was forced to quit his job due to gastric cancer. He applied for and was approved to receive Missouri Medicaid. The gastrectomy procedure will need to be done at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Unfortunately, Missouri Medicaid is not accepted at Mayo Clinic as it is out of state. We need to raise money for Dan's surgery and the medical bills related to surgery.
My family just got another brother of mine, my "Baby Bro" through his fight with lymphoma, and we did so without asking for financial support. Now that we're facing another fight against cancer, we need to reach out and ask for help.
