Dan was a biker for over 50 years, with the wind at his back and the road ahead. His
love of riding led Dan & Nad to be photographers and writers for ThunderRoads
magazine, where he got to know most of the clubs and riders in the Bay Area and
beyond. Dan was an animal whisperer who attracted all sorts of creatures, especially
dogs, cats and birds. He was a skilled woodworker, carpenter, fantastic mechanic,
handyman and artist who could turn anything into something beautiful.
Dan was a dedicated Teamster (local 315) who for 46 years drove Semi Trucks local
and long haul, retiring in 2009.
As the first born, he was a Medicine Man belonging to the Potawatomi Tribe, serving
actively for years as a Fire Chief among other roles with the ’Black Wolf Society’ who
blessed the PowWows at the start of the ceremonies.
He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend who was a giant presence in everyone's lives.
He is survived by his Native American-Wed wife Nadia and daughters, Jennifer, Julee, son James and brother David. Grandchildren James, Raymond, Crystle,
Drake, Carter, Caden, Penelope, Colsen, Logan and Ember. Step children and
grandchildren Yasmine, Majid, Barb, Aliya, Mariam, Faris, Idris and Avah.
