Dan's Fight To Win - Double Lung Transplant

Many people wanting to participate in Dan’s Fight have asked about a GoFundMe page. We are very thankful to everyone for your care, concern, and generosity. We greatly appreciate all donations, regardless of size; these will all go to or towards Dan's expenses during this fight.

At age 37, my brother - Dan Ellison - was informed by medical experts at Barnes Jewish Hospital that both his lungs were failing him and he needs a double lung transplant. He was diagnosed with COPD and severe Emphysema. He was told his lungs looked like a 90 year old man's that had been working in a coal mine his entire life. He has been on oxygen 24/7 since. Recently, while undergoing additional tests, Dan received another devastating blow. It was discovered that his heart is also failing. Dan is taking all the necessary steps and medications to (hopefully) strengthen his heart allowing this double lung transplant to be performed. Should the medical steps being taken for his failing heart not prove successful, he will first require a heart transplant.

Dan has been gainfully and faithfully employed by IATSE Local #6 Stagehand Union since 2003. He is now 39 years old, married to his high school sweetheart, Jessica, and together they have two beautiful daughters – Aubrey (11) and Abigail (9).

While overwhelming in every sense of the word, Dan’s army of Family and Friends are doing ALL we can to help remove the financial stress that has crippled the family’s finances. Dan’s focus needs to be 100% solely on his health.
