In early October, Danny and his family got the heartbreaking news that their father was terminally ill with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer. While Danny was on his way to the airport to return to his family, he suffered a heart attack and went into cardiac arrest. His heart stopped beating and his brain was deprived of oxygen for 30 minutes. After the heroic efforts of the first responders and medical team in Seoul, Danny's heart started beating again. Unfortunately, a lot of damage had been done in those 30 minutes. The doctors feared the worst, that he was brain dead.
Danny is resilient, tough, and a tenacious fighter. He survived and beat the odds. But he is still in a coma and has been fighting alone thousands of miles away from home.
While the medical care in South Korea has been excellent, Danny needs to be with his loved ones to give him the best chance to recover. Now, facing two medical emergencies spanning the globe, Danny’s family is working to bring him back home so they can all support each other during this tremendously difficult time.
The doctors caring for Danny have determined that he is stable enough to be transported, but it will require advanced medical equipment and staff to accompany him on the journey back. This is an extraordinarily costly endeavor that will not be covered by insurance.
Danny has been a fighter throughout this journey and we are doing our best to ease the financial burden on his family so they can continue to support him while he focuses on making a full recovery.
We ask that you share this link and contribute anything you can. You have our deepest thanks for any and all support you can offer.
Please help us bring this family back together.
