Danny's Heart Transplant

Donation protected
In 2009 I was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition from my mom's side of the family.  A difibrilator/pace maker was implanted to keep my heart beating.  That same year, I lost my 3rd oldest sister to the same condition--she didn't make it for her heart transplant.  In 2014, I lost my oldest sister to this same defect.  She was lucky enough to receive a new heart which gave her 11 more years to enjoy her family, friends, and life itself.  She was my inspiration and has kept me going.  I am the youngest of 4 children, and sibling number 2 was lucky enough to not have this condition.

My chronic heart problems are:
Atrial Flutter
Atrioventricular Block
Nonischemic Dilated Cardiomyopathy
Congestive Heart Failure
Familial Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia
Mitral Valve Regurgitation
Pulmonary Hypertension
Paroxysmal Ventricular Tachycardia

My impaired heart function led to Chronic Kidney Disease & Diabetes Type 2.

My heart condition is rapidly deteriorating and the medication is no longer able to help control the ventricular tachycardia.  This means I am freqently experiencing heart failure and my defibrilator needs to "jump start" my heart to keep it beating and me alive  (and it REALLY hurts!  I get shocked without warning).

I recently underwent a cardio ablation where they create lesions on my heart in an attempt to disrupt the chaotic electrical current causing the irregular heartbeat.  Sadly, this procedure did not help my condition and my heart function continues to worsen.

With no other options available that haven't already been tried, my cardiologist said it's time for a transplant. This news was overwhelming--especially when I learned I had to go to Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and would have to stay there for an estimated 3-4 months.  I am a single mother and have no other financial support.  If I'm not working, my obligations aren't met.  I am waiting for several more tests to be done, but should be leaving for LA in December or January--or sooner.  Because of my condition, I haven't been able to work since October and my family and friends have been helping me as much as they can.

Your gifts will be used to help pay for my airfare to LA plus housing and meals for the 3-4 months I will have to stay in California.  It will also help me to continue to pay my rent here at home and all of my usual monthly bills.

I appreciate your prayers, positive thoughts, and generosity.  Wish me luck!  Imua :-)
