Good news! I got my first post-retired from the Military jobs and a firm start date! For those who don't know, I retired from the military, ready to apply my skillset in the civilian world and then...
Well, there was a crazy pandemic and we got stuck in Kansas for the next year. In that time, I was given some nice offers, but they were generally dependent on there being a not pandemic so I sat in a holding pattern.
Course, now that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, we realize that our pockets are empty. Well, we saw that coming, let's be honest, but we were hoping this would come a little sooner. Still, we managed to hold on and not starve to death (I practiced for it by playing the game "Don't Starve" which I recommend for honing your survival skills).
ANYHOO! What I'm confident we'll be able to do is get all of our household goods moved and find a place to live long term once I get a lay of the land...
Oh, yeah... this job is on the East Coast. I'm in Kansas, did I say? Yeah. So it's a move. I'm moving. Far.
Yeah, so we're good on that... but... in the meantime, I need to drive there, that's a few days with some hotel stays and gas and stuff. Then I need to stay somewhere while I look for a temporary living arrangement and then I need to pay a deposit on that living arrangement and first, possibly last, month's rent?
Cause I need that before we get moved out of the Kansas house.
So, I'm trying to secure the funds I need to move and this is a place where we can do that and I expect several of my friends will be able to assist... not looking for a handout... I know this is GoFundMe and there's nothing that says you get your money back... but I'm trying to get everyone their money back soon as we're fluid again.
So, yeah. Help me get back on my feet, I'll get back to you on the other side, month or two, and I shall have many of the thanks for you. I'll model some character after you in one of my stories and do a really bad impression of you in a roleplaying game we televise on twitch or something. It'll be great.
Nothing huge, if I can get 200 people to drop $25, that's better than 10 people doing $500, yeah?
