Danny’s fight to get their paws & feet on solid ground again

Hey everyone,
My name is Danny, and life has been a brutal uphill battle lately. A few years ago, I had a steady life, a career I loved, and a home I’d lived in for 14 years — a rent-controlled apartment that made it possible to keep a roof over my head and my dogs safe.
But that all changed when a new landlord took over the building. Suddenly, I was forced out of my home so the new owner could raise the rent. I had nowhere to go, and trying to find a place that would accept me and my two dogs felt impossible.
Since then, I’ve been living out of my truck, doing whatever handyman and maintenance work I can find. I work every day, but I’m not getting anywhere. The cost of living here is ridiculous, and no matter how hard I try, I’m barely staying above water.
Here’s the reality:
• My truck payment hasn’t been made since December, and I’m terrified it’s going to be repossessed.
• My truck registration is nearly two years overdue, which means I’m at risk of getting towed or ticketed at any moment.
• My storage unit rent hasn’t been paid, and if I lose that, I lose everything I’ve been trying to hold onto — including tools I need to keep working and personal items I can’t replace.
• My credit cards are maxed out, and my once-proud credit score of around 780 is now a tragic joke.
I’m not looking for a handout; I’m looking for a lifeline. My goal is to raise enough money to:
• Get my truck payments up to date so I don’t lose the only safe place I have to sleep.
• Renew the truck registration to avoid getting towed or ticketed.
• Pay off the storage unit so I don’t lose my tools and personal belongings.
• Cover the basics: food, gas, and a little breathing room to get back on my feet.
• Eventually leave California to rebuild my life somewhere more affordable and stable.
I never thought I’d be asking for help like this and am embarrassed that I am asking for belpIf you can help, I can’t tell you how much it would mean to me. And if you can’t, even just sharing this would be an incredible kindness.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for caring.
With all my gratitude,
Danny
