Help Danny Bounce Back from Elbow Surgery
Donation protected
Welcome to the fundraising page and "Virtual Benefit Concert" for our fiddling friend, Danny Diamond!
On September 1st, fiddle player Danny Diamond and guitarist Brian Miller had just finished their second public performance since releasing their duo album “Let Fly.” It was a beautiful evening for a porch concert in St. Paul, Minnesota and after the challenges of the past year and a half (Danny moved to Minnesota right before the pandemic started) Danny was looking forward to finally getting back to playing more music and settling into life in Minnesota. There were gigs planned here and back in Ireland and teaching work at the Center for Irish Music. Unfortunately, while biking home that night, some debris in the road from a fallen tree dealt Danny a major setback.
Danny broke his left elbow that evening. He's had reconstructive surgery and now begins the long road to recovery, which includes giving up performing and teaching work for several months. Danny's wife Anna, and in-laws Nick, Liz, and Fin are supporting him in his healing here in Minneapolis, and of course, the Diamonds from afar in Ireland.
Please join us in contributing to Danny's recovery and supporting him during these months without work with a financial donation, and if you'd like, by contributing a video to the "virtual concert"! Danny is lucky to have good friends near and far who want to contribute to making this a joyful and healing space, so please enjoy the "concert" while you're here!
