Many of us remember Danny VanderSpek with great love and affection. Corrine VanderSpek, along with the rest of the family, thought it would be great to create a Memorial Scholarship at Calvin College in Danny's name. With this fund-raising project I hope to raise the cost of publishing this book so that all the proceeds from the sales of the book will go to the Memorial Scholarship. My personal goal is to raise $5,500 US, which is about $6,900 Cdn at today's exchange rate. 

It is expensive to publish a book. The cost of editing, publishing, printing, and mailing the finished copies will cost a total of $9 - 10,500. The remaining $1,500 or so goes to gofundme because this service collects the money, accepts credit cards and debit cards etc. It is a well-known platform that people recognize and can easily use.

If the book costs less to publish, say for example because the editing cost was lower than expected, the extra money raised will go directly to the Memorial Scholarship.
