Hi All,
We have sat on this idea for quite some time on how to remember a person who brought so much life to the world.
We asked the question what did Danny care the most about?
Animals were always up there in the most important things in Danny's life as well as free-flowing rivers.
That is why we decided to go with two charities this year. One that would give back to an organisation that gives so much to Animal Welfare and the other an organisation that works tirelessly to keep our rivers flowing across the world.
This year Galway Fest is teaming up with Pyranha Kayaks to raise funds in memory of Danny.
The first organisation is: My Lovely Horse Rescue Santuary.
A charity operating in the Leinster and Cork regions. They rescue, rehabilitate and rehome equines and other animals; they assist authorities in moving equines to a place of safety and advocate for the enforcement of animal welfare legislation. Much of this work occurs in their centres in Kildare and Corkas well as in the community.
The second organisation is: Free Rivers Fund
Which many of you are already aware of. The team collects donations from adventure sports companies and distributes funds to conservation groups. FRF partners with companies in the paddle sports industry, but is also building up co-operations with kayak clubs, and accept private donations as well.Grassroots conservation projects seeking support can apply once a year. A jury then carefully selects the projects where the funding will make the biggest difference for river protection.
