Danny D. Danforth, age 78, died of natural causes at his residence on April 30th, 2017, in Crawfordsville Indiana. Danny is survived by his wife Josette Danforth of Crawfordsville, his sons Brent Danforth (wife Alicia Hess Danforth) of Columbus, OH, Eric Danforth of Crawfordsville, IN, his daughter, Beth Danforth Steadman (husband Bill Steadman) of Carmel, IN and his sister, Sue Danforth Meyer of Crawfordsville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicholas Danforth (13), Emily Steadman (13) and Sara Steadman (11).
Danny was born on March 26th, 1939 in Crawfordsville, IN to parents of Herschel Danforth and Irene Neese Danforth. He graduated from Crawfordsville High School and attended Indiana University before he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Corporal and a pilot in Vietnam from 1960-1963. After his service, Danny went on to be a pilot and flight instructor who trained over 100 individuals in getting various flight certifications & ratings. He was employed by Eli Lilly in Clinton, IN and Indianapolis, IN for 25 years in many capacities, including Supervisor when he retired.
A private funeral service is scheduled for Friday, May 5th at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that well wishers consider donating to this fund in memory of Danny to assist with funeral expenses.
