Dan Matheson's Long & Winding Road
Donation protected
Hi! Brandy and Dan have been our neighbors and friends for almost 30 years. They've had some tough life events, truly more than their fair share. Now, they're battling Dan's lung cancer. The cool thing is: They remain positive. They remain faithful to God. They have been an encouragement to others! They sure could use some help. Here is their story:
Early in November of 2015, Dan started having pain and numbness in his right arm and hand. After having an MRI, he learned he had a herniated disk in his neck, but also a mass was in his upper right lung. After seeing an Oncologist, it was determined that Dan had Stage 3, Non-small cell lung cancer. Surgery has not been an option to remove the tumor since it is imbedded among many nerves. Although it has improved somewhat, Dan has been in constant physical pain since November of 2015.
Since undergoing radiation and chemotherapy and two hospitalizations, Dan has not been able to work due to his hand disability, many daily appointments and the effects of the various medications he is on.
Although he has health insurance, there are always excess costs for all of the medications, co-payments and health care needs he has now. Many of these costs have been quite high. Both Dan and his wife Brandy are currently on disability and their health insurance costs have ballooned since Dan hasn't worked for a year now.
Dan's cognitive abilities are greatly compromised from all of the treatments he undergoes and the medications.
Dan and Brandy have a strong faith in the Lord, as He has walked them through everything thus far, and has enabled them to experience much joy even in the midst of their trials. They appreciate all of the love and prayers they've been receiving.
If you are able to help fund their medical expenses, it would greatly improve the emotional and financial stresses they are experiencing. Cancer is a tough road to be on, and it is long and winding. Most of all though, they would appreciate your continued prayers.
