Dan Lamm Mountain Ranch Butte Fire Fund

Our friend Dan Lamm’s fire reduction services business was one of the casualties of the Butte Fire that tore through Mountain Ranch taking 475 homes and hundreds of outbuildings. Although somehow his beloved cat survived, some of the means of Dan’s livelihood did not. And yes, he also lost the masterpiece of his lifetime, the beautiful log cabin he built with his own hands, as well as most of his outbuildings.

Just as important, after serving so many of us, Dan lost his tractors, his saws, his mill. Some, although not all, of the equipment of his livelihood. We are hoping you can help keep him on his feet, keep him working for fire reduction in Arnold and all around Calaveras County.

No government help is available to Dan, as his “primary residence” –a technicality--was not Mountain Ranch but in Arnold, in the home purchased with his mother’s legacy. No grants or federal funds are available to replace all he lost when the fire roared through his hillside home, reducing everything, even his fire safe, to ashes.

Many of us have benefitted over the past 26 years from Dan’s fire prevention services and his patient teaching about fire safety and forest health. In order to help him continue to serve us and our community, we are conducting this GoFundMe campaign to help Dan replace at least some of the equipment he has lost. Any additional funds will go to help Dan begin to rebuild his cabin, his outbuildings and replace other personal items he lost.
