Dani’s gender affirming care
Donation protected
Hi my name is Dani and at the time of writing this I am a 19 year old trans woman. I am a 1st year uni student studying to become a primary school teacher and as you can imagine, being a student puts you in a very difficult financial position. I have a part time job alongside my course and placements which just about pays for my hormones and uni fees. I’ve started a go fund me for people to donate to help me raise funds for gender affirming care. As you may know the waiting list for gender affirming care on the NHS is disgustingly long and prices for private care are extortionate so any funds, no matter how big or small, will help me to reach my goal x :)
Bring born in the wrong body is an extremely frustrating and draining experience and having body parts that feel foreign is an agonising pain that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It takes such a huge mental toll daily. At the start of my transition I learnt to tuck which I have to do daily. This is an extremely uncomfortable thing that I have to do to feel even the slightest bit comfortable but even this doesn’t work completely, which makes me feel as though I am fighting a constant mental battle with a broken sword (no pun intended). Tucking can also be quite a dangerous thing to be doing daily as it puts you at risk for accidental testicular torsion. I am purely asking for help from anyone from the kindness of your hearts to help me get to my goal.
As of the moment, the London transgender clinic quotes anywhere between £31,00 to £35,000 for GRS/SRS MTF so I have set my target as £35,000. This price includes the surgery itself, all pre and post operative care up to one year as-well as the 6 night stay in hospital. Any extra funds left after I’ve used what I need to for this will be donated to other go fundme’s to help fund other girls GRS.
I do not expect to get even anywhere close to my target as £35,000 is a crazy amount of money to raise let alone afford for life saving gender affirming care, but any donations will be completely appreciated and make the world of difference, slowly getting me closer to my goal. I felt it was important to atleast try :) x
