Dani's COVID Emergency

Hello, friends and family. I made this GoFundMe out of embarrassment, desperation, and also frustration. When I source funds, I source them for my students and my classroom. Unfortunately, this fund is for me personally. A few weeks ago I fell sick with a very bad cold that turned into an upper respiratory infection. This illness took my last few sick days and they don't get replaced until January. A week later, I contracted COVID despite being vaxxed. My classroom has been through the wringer in the past 3 months with quarantines and COVID cases. It finally got me, too. After reaching out to my employer for several days, I found out I would NOT be getting paid. Then, after spending Thanksgiving in isolation and nearing the end of my quarantine (one of the saddest things I've been through... especially amongst a divorce) my daughter got COVID. For some reason, I am being told again that this is unpaid leave and FMLA will not count for her care. I don't understand it and I am going to bring awareness. My assistant contracted COVID, didn't get paid, and she had to quit and find a new job. I am worried that I am in a similar predicament. In the interim, I am calling on the love, charity, and saving by my friends and family to help make up the difference for rent, bills, and upcoming holidays. I am trying to raise money for my loss of pay and trying not to feel shamed about it. But, this is my reality. Things are HARD right now and I seem to have a hard time catching a break... but it will come. I'm trying to stay solutions-focused and move forward. Any support helps. Thank you in advance. ❤️
