This is Daniel Reis. He came to Phoenix, Arizona pursuing his MBA, while the rest of his family is back in Lisbon, Portugal. Unfortunately, his mother has been dealing with pancreatic cancer for the last year. Chemotherapy and radiation have not helped, and she is now too weak to continue, so she has been transferred to palliative care. Daniel doesn't know how much time she has left, and can't afford to leave during his class schedule. He would love the opportunity to fly back to Lisbon to see his family and possibly see his mother for the last time, but this Christmas break may be the last chance he gets.

We, as his roommates, want to help our brother Daniel. We want to do whatever we can so he is able to see his mother one last time (and give his mother a chance to see him again), and have the chance to be with his family during these tough times, especially during the holiday season. 

Because Daniel is in the US on a student visa, he is not allowed to work off-campus, so he does not have enough money to be able to buy a plane ticket home. 

The cheapest plane tickets from Phoenix to Lisbon around that time are $1500 round trip, and we are trying to raise money to be able to buy him a ticket home. If somehow God blesses him and the amount raised goes over that number, the rest of the money raised will go directly to Daniel and his family during this difficult time.
