I rescued Daniel from the streets at the beginning of May this year and helped him adjust to life in a home. He has come a long way since then, but there are still some health issues that we need to investigate.

I’m starting a fundraiser for Daniel’s medical examination. We need to raise around €1000.

Daniel’s cough still has not gone away. He also has a lump on his neck, and we still do not know what it is. We really want to understand what is causing these symptoms and make sure there is nothing serious behind them.

We are planning to have his main check-up at the referral veterinary clinic Caladrius (Belgium). The examination will include X-rays, a complete blood count, blood biochemistry, urinalysis, an abdominal ultrasound, a full clinical examination and a consultation.

The estimated cost of this stage is around €700.

Before going to Caladrius, Daniel also needs to have his first heart ultrasound. He will most likely need sedation or anaesthesia for the X-rays, so we want to check his heart beforehand and make sure there are no additional anaesthetic risks.

Caladrius does not have a cardiology department, so the heart ultrasound will be done separately at AniCura. The estimated cost is around €250 to €300.

This means that we need approximately €1000 for the first full stage of Daniel’s diagnostics.

We really want to do more than just treat the symptoms. Our goal is to give Daniel a proper, thorough examination and finally understand why his cough is not going away and what the lump on his neck actually is.
