Daniel's Fight for a Liver Transplant!

Hi Everyone!

As many of you know, Dad (Daniel) has been in the hospital since November 2024. During his time trying to recover, he started experiencing episodes of Hepatic Encephalopathy. With his most recent and severe episode, his team of Dr's worked hard to get him transferred to San Antonio to be evaluated for a possible liver transplant! As of 1/22/25 Dad is now in San Antonio for treatment, evaluation, and regaining strength from HE. We are praying hard every day in hopes that dad is able to get this liver transplant. Without knowing how long this process will take, Mom will be with him every step of the way traveling back and forth and taking time away from work.

If you know or knew Dad at any point in your lifetime, you know that he was/is one of the most hard working man you'll ever know. Just 3 years ago, he retired from the Nueces County Sheriff's Department after serving 37 years. Sgt. Garza didn't stop there. After retirement, he continued serving our community through the CCISD police department.

Dad has spent many many years taking care of friends and family needs, creating positive relationships within our community, and always putting others first before himself. During this time that mom and dad will be away from home/work, any donations or help would be greatly appreciated! But most importantly we are asking everyone to please keep our Dad and family in your prayers that he gets through this and comes out stronger than he has ever been. God has definitely been by our side throughout this life changing journey. We are hopeful that he will get this liver transplant and be given a second chance at life to fulfill his purpose as a son of God, a Husband, a Father, and Grandfather.
