Daniel’s fight against Covid
Daniel tested positive for Covid in middle of July, and after several days of only getting worse he was hospitalized for 17 days in the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center on high flow oxygen. He was then released and sent home on oxygen, but after being home he still was struggling to breathe. On August 14th his mom took him back to the Chickasaw Nation ER, and he was readmitted being told that his lungs had gotten worse, he was then placed on cpap, but his body was still working extremely to hard. The doctors told Daniel he had developed ARDS from the phenomia and covid. On August 17th after being told Daniel had 2% chance of survival, and the only choice was to be placed on ventilator to let his body and lungs rest and try to heal. The doctors and family tried daily to find him a bed with a pulmonologist, that possibly offered a treatment called echmo. On August 23rd a week later the doctor’s informed the family that Daniel needed to be transferred to long term facility in Sherman, Texas where he could possibly have a trache put in place, if he needed that to continue to heal. Today August 31st marks 14 days and the doctors were successful and able to extubate him and he is breathing on his own with oxygen. Daniel is being watched closely to see if he can handle being off the ventilator. Daniel still has a very long recovery ahead which will include rehab, and many other doctor appointments. Daniel has been off of work since testing positive and has no income coming in at this time and unsure when he will be able to return to work. He has numerous living expenses and medical bills piling up. Any donation would be greatly appreciated that way Daniel can focus on getting well, and not have the financial stress. We can’t thank you enough for all the love and support during this difficult time. We just ask that you continue to pray for a full recovery.
