Daniels Dental Mission ❤️

This is Daniel, he is by far one of the best human beings on the planet. Daniel was born with Down's syndrome and faced many challenges in life. He has had many surgeries and many complications due to neglect of the hospitals. One surgery being a dental surgery in which all his teeth were removed, which was a shock to our family ! Because of Daniels disability he only had one set of teeth that very quickly became infected and caused him a lot of pain and suffering, no matter how much we did to prevent it! He is so strong and never complains about pain, in fear of having to go back to the hospital, I don't blame him. After having his teeth removed he was given dentures with no other option by Toronto hospitals. Unfortunately, having Down syndrome also has other characteristics such as a very large tongue with makes the dentures impossible to wear, he can't even keep them in his mouth long enough to try and use them, on top of the fact that they are extremly painful as they were never fitted properly. He has been using his gums to chew his food for years and most dentist turn us away because they do not work with children with Down's syndrome and always find ways of letting us down easy... time and time again. The overall surgery to have all in 4's done is going to cost around $80,000.00. Our family is working hard to save but in these difficult times we are losing time, soon his bones will be so thin he will have nothing left to put the implants in and another surgery will have to be done to build up the bone! I am trying to raise money for Daniel to have the best surgeon because at 33 years old he deserves to have a good quality of life! The system is so difficult for disabled people and their families! We try to give him the best life and he has no lack of love in his life ! But I don't want to see him suffer anymore than he already has. Daniel makes everyone he meets smile or cry because of how genuine his love is ! This is a guy who never asks for anything and only wants to make us smile, I want to give him his back with confidence. I can never express how lucky I feel to have him in my life and I just want him to be able to eat and be healthy without the fear of him choking everyday. He expresses his sadness about having no teeth when he sees his old pictures and says he's "gum boy" now, and I always tell him one day he will have teeth again ! No matter what I raise for him on this site I will put it towards his teeth and never stop until I reach my goal for him ! People with Down's Syndrome are truly amazing and I hope u can find in your heart to help him get his smile back.
