Our family has been watching my little sister struggle with horrible, 24/7 constant head and facial pain (diagnosed as "atypical trigeminal neuralgia") and severe, debilitating migraines for over 5 years. This disease is known as the suicide disease due to the horrendous amount of pain it inflicts on its victim. She has been to over 50 doctors and treatment facilities and tried countless forms of treatment, including 2 brain surgeries within the last 4 months. She is legally disabled because of this disease. She is only 28 years old...
At her age she should be finishing college, planning a career, celebrating her future, living her dreams. Unfortunately this is not the case. Her condition keeps her confined to her bedroom at home; no parties, no funtions, no outings, no time spent with friends. She is unable to celebrate birthdays, holidays or family events. All of her ambition and plans for her future have been put on hold, a business management degree left in the middle of its completion, relationships severed and all with no end in sight to this hell that she endures. She is frozen in time, unable to pursue her dreams and goals due to the pain that is her constant and often only companion. The pain keeps her isolated. Her faith in God and the support of her family and friends, even from a distance is what helps get her through.
The medical expenses alone are burying her and our family, not to mention travel expenses to see out of state doctors. Most recently she has sought treatments in Pittsburgh PA, Chicago IL and Rochester MN to name a few. When that didn't work, we set our sights on the next course of action. Her next doctor and treatment is in New York. This girl has been poked, prodded, injected, cut open and she endures it all knowing a cure could be just around the corner. She is not happy to be a bystander in her own life. She wants nothing more than to be able to participate in normal activities. Before this sickness took over she was a hard working over achiever. She wants her life back.

This is an ongoing battle and we're not giving up until we find a cure! We need your help to continue. Please join us in the fight to help her to get further treatment to hopefully get her life back. We appreciate all that you can do. Thank you and God bless!
