Danielle Dion Bursary - TEKsystems & Trails

We at TEKsystems' are committed to supporting Trails' Youth Initiatives with our Time, Treasure, and Talent. This gofundme is specific to our efforts as a donor to the Danielle Dion Bursary Fund, which will support a Trails' member throughout their 4-year Post-Secondary program.


Who is Trails?
Trails' "Four Seasons, Four Years, For Life" outdoor program builds confidence through skill development, high school credits, bursaries and mentorship. We challenge and equip vulnerable youth to become contributing members of the community.

Founded in 1992, Trails has over 500 graduates. It costs $1.3 million a year, all raised through private funding. We foster community, emotional intelligence, and self-knowledge through outdoor experiential education. We focus on growing skills such as conflict resolution, leadership, critical thinking, and reflection. With our focus on transference, participants build a positive engagement with Trails, the outdoors, and their authentic selves. Through equal parts challenge and opportunity, Trails doesn’t aim to just make a difference, we change lives.

Trails & TEKsystems Partnership:
Our team has been working closely to build a long-term partnership with the Trails Youth Initiatives team. TEKsystems has been leveraging their diverse backgrounds, career skills, and drive to create change, to create opportunities for Trails' members to learn additional skills that will help them in their next chapters.

So far, we have been able to run a number of LinkedIn Workshops, created a Peer-to-Peer Mentorship Program that we will be launching in September, and a commitment to fundraising $6000 (Including company match) to support one student’s University fees this coming school year.
