Danielle Anthony - supporting our friend

If you’re reading this plea for help, Danielle Anthony - Aranguren (age 48) has already touched your life with her huge heart and quick wit. Maybe you’ve had dinner with Danielle and her beloved Sergio, or your child has played on the beach with her darling Eloise (age 7). Perhaps you rolled up your sleeves and worked side by side with Danielle at Radius or Disqo. Or maybe you danced the night away and laughed until you couldn’t breathe with her at an MRA/Insights Association event. Danielle is a devoted friend to so many and a longtime contributor to the market research industry (GNY Chapter President 2016/17). Now she desperately needs our help.

After a harrowing search for answers, Danielle was recently diagnosed with Grainular Cell Carcinoma, a very rare and extremely difficult to treat form of cancer. In January of this year, her symptoms started out simply enough with some gastrointestinal issues. Things quickly escalated, leading to her fateful trip to the ER where her cancer was discovered. Her case is considered quite serious, so she was immediately referred to an oncology team in her new hometown in Florida. Unfortunately, the local team soon hit a wall because they haven’t seen this type of cancer before, leading Danielle to endure the challenging trek to MD Anderson in Houston, where she finally found some hope.

The team at MD Anderson believes that Danielle is a great fit for one of their clinical studies, which is very encouraging. However, it comes at a great cost. Danielle will be required to travel to Houston for treatment every 3 weeks for the foreseeable future. That means airfare, hotels, meals, and childcare for Eloise and, of course, mounting medical bills.

Danielle is so committed to getting better that she’s prepared to sell her dream home in Florida and move to Houston. However, she hopes not to uproot Eloise during this already tumultuous time.
