Danielle Anderson, PE teacher, coach, athletic director, fundraising chair, social committee lead, etc. retired from Francisco Middle School in 2024 after 38 years of dedicated service. She was the heart and soul of the school. Danielle challenged all students to do their very best and to work hard in the most respectful and caring manner. She was the ultimate cheerleader for all. She spearheaded fundraising efforts for school activities and drives to support the most needy students for clothing and basic supplies. Danielle was the one to organize all faculty social events resulting in great camaraderie among the community.
On July 29, 2025, the San Francisco Unified School District Board unanimously voted to name the Francisco gym floor the “DANIELLE ANDERSON COURT”. It truly is a gesture that is most deserving for someone who has been so committed to the entire Francisco community.
We are in the planning and fundraising stages to incorporate the appropriate signage for Danielle to be recognized. Dimensional lettering above the gym door entryway, a bronze commemorative plaque, and gym floor center court design and lettering to be applied. Once the signage is complete, a ceremony to honor Danielle will take place. Our tentative target date for this to occur is spring of 2026.
