I started running in 2012 almost by obligation. It was an academic requirement when I started college. I never imagined that first hesitant step would become the center of my life, something so essential that it now almost defines who I am.

Running took me on a deep journey of introspection. It taught me how to sit with discomfort, how to trust myself, and how to discover a strength I didn’t know I had. With every mile, I gained more than physical endurance: I found confidence, focus, and the certainty that I am capable of facing challenges that demand everything from me—both mentally and physically.

Since then, I haven’t stopped running. Even when in 2024, a hip injury forced me to come to a complete halt for an entire year, running continued to guide me. Recovering, returning, and standing at the starting line again reshaped the way I understand patience, resilience, and purpose.

This will be my fourth marathon. Eugene has always been on my list of dream races, and running it in support of Relief Nursery gives this race a meaning far greater than the miles. Just as running has given me stability, confidence, and the tools to move forward through difficult moments, Relief Nursery provides that same foundation to children and families when they need it most.
