Daniel's Battle Against Cancer

Daniel Eick, a beloved husband, father, friend has been battling Kidney Cancer since 2001. This round (his third) has been the hardest – it has progressed into his bones and he has had to have four surgeries, all this year and within months of each other – one an emergency hip replacement when his thigh broke and he fell, shattering his hip – and now the cancer advanced again and the other hip needed replacing as well to prevent the same thing from happening. He needed additional surgeries to have rods put in so his bones won't break. Mounting bills have created a huge debt, insurance only covers a portion of the treatments that he needs and does not cover all of the expenses.
Dan’s condition is severe – the cancer has currently spread to his knees and ankles in addition to his hips, arms and shoulders, but his will to fight is strong and he desperately wants to beat this disease. There remain a multitude out-of-pocket and ongoing expenses that insurance will not cover. These include subsequent living arrangements and outpatient expenses. Additionally, Dan won’t be able to work again for a long time due to the medications and therapy prescribed for his treatment. And the bills keep mounting.
7/21/18 update: Dan broke his collarbone last night - please share on your social media pages so we can reach more people. Chipping away at debt that keeps growing faster than we can eliminate it...
Funds will go directly into an account opened expressly for these medical bills. The Daniel Eick account, administered by a team of Dan’s friends - Julie Woodall, Julie Stubenrauch and Kevin Woodall will be used for medicine, therapy and hospital bills.
