Daniel Will Run Again – Help Us Cross the Finish Line
For ten long years, my husband, Daniel, has fought a battle that most people never see—and few could endure. Lymphedema in both of his legs has shaped every step he’s taken, every day he’s pushed through, every moment he’s refused to give up. What started as swelling grew into pain, immobility, and countless rounds of therapy. It meant specialists, procedures, infections, fear, and more setbacks than we can count. But Daniel never quit. Not once.
Two years ago, he began a weight-loss journey that demanded everything—discipline, courage, and a fierce belief in the life he still wanted to live. Today, he stands 150 pounds lighter, stronger in spirit, and closer than ever to regaining the life he’s fought so hard for. He has come miles from where he started, and now he stands at the edge of the finish line.
And this is where we need our community.
The Final Stretch
Daniel is preparing for major surgery on both legs—surgery that will finally give him the chance to walk without pain… and yes, to run again. Before he can undergo these procedures, he must complete an intense final course of daily lymphedema therapy. Every day, hours-long hospital appointments. Every day, full leg bandaging and physical therapy. Every day, one more step toward the healing that he seeks.
Because of this schedule and the severity of his condition, Daniel is unable to work full-time. And while insurance covers part of his treatment, we are left holding bills that feel heavier than the journey itself—therapy costs, surgical costs, and the living expenses that don’t pause while life gets rebuilt.
What We’re Asking
We humbly ask for your support as Daniel enters this final phase—4 to 5 months of preparation, surgery, and recovery. Your generosity will help cover:
- Out-of-pocket therapy costs, including travel costs to specialists
- Surgical expenses not covered by insurance
- Living expenses during his time away from full-time work
Every gift, big or small, pushes him one breath closer to the freedom he’s dreamed of.
Why This Matters
Because we believe in miracles just as much as we believe in community.
We believe in the power of people who refuse to let others fight alone.
And we believe—deeply, stubbornly, joyfully—that Daniel will run again.
For us, “running” is more than speed or motion—it is a symbol of all the living he’s had to set aside. It means traveling without fear, playing sports with our children, walking through parks and airports and grocery aisles without pain, and standing at events without counting the minutes until he must sit. It means reclaiming every ordinary joy that lymphedema has tried to steal.
We declare:
He will kick the soccer ball with our daughter, Parker.
He will play tennis with Payton.
He will dance with me in our kitchen without pain in his eyes.
We have walked this road together for ten years… but now we are inviting you to walk beside us, to lift us in this final mile, and to help Daniel rise into the life he deserves.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for believing with us.
Thank you for helping Daniel cross the finish line—so he can finally take off running.
With hope, gratitude, and love,
Anitra & Family
