It is with a heavy heart that our family asks for your help to lay to rest Daniel Tingley who passed away on July 29, 2019. Daniel proudly served his country, answering the call by draft to enlist in the Army and deploy to Vietnam at the age of 18. While deployed across the world he taught himself to read with one instrumental book, the Bible. From this point forward he developed a profound faith and often quoted numerous passages where they applied during his life and those of others. He was outgoing and personable, often striking up conversations with willing strangers at Starbucks, making friends at least briefly and often longer. Those who knew him as a teen spoke often of his standing up for the underdogs, which continued throughout his life. He was a gifted joke-teller and performed card tricks to the delight of his friends and family. Ultimately, he struggled with PTSD, COPD and lung cancer, eventually succumbing to emphysema and COPD. Our family is grateful for the Veterans Administration’s assistance with offering tribute to this wonderful man, and we ask for your help in supporting the funeral expenses not otherwise provided for veterans like our father. We appreciate any gesture and are so grateful for those who can offer their support. On behalf of our father, Daniel Tingley, God bless you…
