Daniel, the Goodboy - Indie Feature Film

Daniel, the Goodboy is an independent Horror-Drama feature, currently filming in Melbourne, Australia with the help of a tight-knit cast & crew.
We've been shooting the film since March last year, but have had to halt production due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. We need your help to finish the film at the end of the year!
‘Daniel’ began all the way across the Pacific Ocean in sunny California as the beginnings of a silly caricature in our Director Alex Ibarra's mind. Then it travelled across to Japan, where Alex became close friends with our Director of Photography Ayuka Shirao, and the film evolved to become the lovechild of late 90s Japanese Horror films and novel techniques such as the Miyazaki method. Finally, the two of them came down under to Melbourne, Australia, where they recruited producers Luca and Michelle, plus our stellar lead actors, and began the slow but rewarding process of making Daniel the Goodboy a reality.
Daniel, the Goodboy started from a grassroots level and has begun to make an imprint on the Australian film industry through word of mouth and social media. We’ve been shooting on free weekends between university classes and running on a budget of essentially nothing, with the help of a dedicated and passionate cast and crew who believe in Alex’s unique creative vision. However, that’s not to say that we don’t need some professional help. So we’ve set up this campaign to appeal to friends, family, colleagues and the film industry community who wish to see Daniel the Goodboy reach its full potential.
Donations will go primarily towards expensive post-production costs such as sound recording, color grading, music licensing, visual effects for blood spatters and monstrous creatures, and film festival distribution costs to bring Daniel to worldwide audiences. If you are unable to donate, even just sharing this campaign across social media and by word of mouth will help us achieve our vision and reach our goal!
