It is with great sadness that I am doing this once again, as so many people reached out and gave beyond themselves to help my family less than two years ago when they tragically lost their home, everything they own and nearly their lives to a fatal car accident Yorba Linda, Ca. I found so much support and love through posting on this site that it is the only way I could think to help my brother's family once again in their URGENT time of need.
On May 26th 2019 my brother Daniel passed away suddenly at 41 years old, leaving behind a grieving family with three BEAUTIFUL, thoughtful, intelligent and loving children, two in college and one in middle school. He was a loving and devoted father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, colleague, and friend. His family loved him so much and he loved them immensely. He was a big financial supporter of his family and the most amazing person you would ever want to meet. He had a smile that could light up a room and always tried his best to make you feel GREAT about yourself and always put aside his needs for others. The outpouring of support and love that Daniel is receiving through his community who remembered him is overwhelming and surreal, it gives a bit of solace in our hearts that just by being himself that his life and legacy touched so many in his all too short time on this earth. He was literally the best guy I knew, and I always looked up to him- his wisdom, his character, his charm and his determination to make a better life for himself, his family and the people around him. My greatest sadness is that he did not fully realize how completely incredible he truly was. I will spend the rest of my days making sure his memory and legacy is kept alive as the fun-loving, dedicated, sweet, honest, sincere, charming and just wonderful person that he truly was.
Daniel was a 9 year Marine Veteran, and served his country with pride. He gave 9 years of his life for our freedom, serving in time of war. He always cherished his time in the Corps carrying with him through life the values that it taught him.
It is only because his death was so untimely and unexpected that I am asking his friends, family, colleagues and loved ones- only if you can, to please donate so that it can help to soften the blow just a little to help his grieving family survive this utterly tragic time. The funds will be applied to rent, funeral services, and anything the children may need in the coming months until his family can get back on their feet.
There is nothing more than I can say than to share with you some of the words close family and friends have said about him..so here goes-

Yesterday, on Memorial Day, I received the sad, sad news that one of my closest friends, Daniel passed away Sunday evening. Although I’d only known him just under 2 years, he and I had become business colleagues but more than that really good friends.
We went sailing together with my family and also just he and I, shared meals, worked together and talked almost every day.
I will miss him very much and I’m so sorry for his family. He was a very good man, had such an amazing zest for life and touched everyone he knew. He will be missed by so, so many and remembered as such a bright spot in all of our lives.

I remember when I first got to VMFA-314 back in March 2001 Daniel Sorrentino and Maddog Paul Madsen turned me into one of the most respected electrician at least in my head I was haha.Even though I was older I looked up to you are respected your expertise. I never told you but I got tired of you saying come on let's go Bush, but because you were happy to teach I was happy to learn. Brother I will always remember your smile whether we were cracking jokes or changing out parts in the gusty winds of Pusan Korea or heat out in Hobart Australia. It was never a dull moment with you. I know you will be standing tall in them dress blues at the Pearly Gates. Job well done Semper Fi

Daniel was one of the kindest, most gregarious, biggest hearted people I have ever met. Your dad walked in a room and you knew he was there (in a good way). A big man with a big personality that people gravitated toward. He made you feel like the only person in the room. I knew him for many years, and I was there for good times and bad. But, never once did I question that he was a good person, a good man. A man I was lucky to know and consider a friend.
I really don't know what to say, but I just wanted you to know that even 3000 miles away, he impacted people. There are many people here in the Northeast hurting, not like you guys perhaps, but we still sit here, broken hearted.
How do you sum his impact up in a few words? You can't.
But, colleagues became family, clients became friends. And he became part of our lives. We grieve with you, and wish you peace and hope he found his.

My friend, such terrible news to have to hear, swallow, and digest. I remember when I was a brand new FNG to VMFA-314. Not only was I was a brand new Marine, I was a nervous young man struggling to be out their on my own for the first time in my life, trying to begin to figure it out. Intimidating doesn't even describe it, but when I met you for the first time, you came at me as a person and fellow Marine, not a superior, and smiled. When you introduced yourself to me, believe it or not, you made me feel a little more comfortable in my own skin at that time. You always had a smile on your face and treated me kind, and I will always remember that about you. You taught me a valuable life lesson in just that initial interaction, and I will always be grateful to you for that. You will never be forgotten, and my thoughts and prayers are with your family. It was a pleasure to have served with you, brother. Semper Fidelis.

Received some very unexpected news today that another good human was taken from us way too soon. Daniel Sorrentino was a good man, he was a bright light, a father, a co-worker and a friend. And, importantly to me, he was kind. Today we no longer seem to value such a simple trait, but it’s that trait that brings about the best in us. I have lost a friend, but won’t ever loose sight of his example. Love and Light to you Daniel, and to those who could use more kindness in their lives...
