Proper Goodbye for Dan and Lilly

As many of you know, my brother Dan had struggled with addiction for a while. He had just gone through a program and was doing so good in his recovery. He was working 7 days a week, attending group and spending as much of his free time with his daughter, trying to make up for the time addiction had stolen from them. He was doing so good and I am so proud of him for the effort he was putting forth. The night of December 5th, Dan gave into his struggle and it took him from us. He was such an amazing person throughout his struggles, an amazing brother, the best that I could ask for. An amazing father to Lilly, as they just loved each other so much. An amazing son to my parents, one who I'm sure made them want to pull their hair out at times, but that was Dan. He was also an amazing friend to so many people. If you knew Dan, you liked Dan, because well..... He was Dan. The people who knew Dan know exactly what I mean.

Today I'm left wondering how I can afford to give my brother the goodbye he deserves. How to give Dan's daughter Lilly the good-bye that they both deserve. How to give everybody the chance to say goodbye that they all deserve. I'm trying my best, but I feel like that isn't good enough. I was thinking we we're going to have him cremated and have a memorial service. Talking with us daughter last night, she wants to see him. I'm trying to do for her whatever she needs, as this will impact the rest of her life. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I have to do this right, for her, for Dan. I'm going to do everything needed so I can adopt her, because I know my brother would have wanted that. I just don't know what I'm doing, but I'm doing my best.
I never ask for help, as I'm the type who will make due with whatever he has, but this time I need to ask for help. I can't do it alone. I can't provide the type of goodbye that Dan deserves, that Lilly deserves. Please help me provide that for him and his daughter. Anything you can help with will go towards offering Dan the memorial services that his daughter wants to have with him and cremation. Anything further will go to help get his daughter anything she may need.

Just know, as far as taking care of his daughter, I will not let Dan down. I will not let Lilly down. I will not let my family down. I will not let you down.
I will do everything I can to be there for that amazing little girl and everything I can to provide her the life Dan would have wanted. I have to, as a man, as her Uncle Chris. I can't let her down.

Thank you so much. Let me speak for my family when I say we love you all. Thank you for everything.
