Our hearts are shattered.
We have lost our beloved brother, Damilola Adebayo, who passed away on the 11th of September after a painful and difficult time in hospital. His passing has left our family in deep shock and sorrow, and we are struggling to come to terms with losing someone so full of life and love.
Damilola was a bright light in everyone’s life. He loved music and dancing and could always make people smile with his energy and joy. He was kind, generous, and always there for his family and friends. His laughter, his dance moves, and his love for life will be missed by all who knew him.
Sadly, his final days were filled with pain. While in the West Midlands, Damilola began experiencing severe chest pain. The ambulance was called, and he was taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton, where he had previously undergone valve repair surgery last year. After the surgery, he continued to experience discomfort and pain. On the 2nd of September, he was transferred to Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital for an emergency valve repair surgery. However, despite the urgency of his condition, the surgery was repeatedly delayed.
The night before his passing, around 12:30 a.m., he spoke with me, expressing his frustration and fear that his health concerns were not being taken seriously. Just a few hours later, around 2 a.m., despite his courage and strength through those difficult days, Damilola passed away — far, far too soon.
This was a completely unexpected and devastating loss. As we grieve, we are also facing the heartbreaking reality that we cannot afford the costs of his funeral and burial.
We are reaching out for help to give him the respectful and dignified farewell he deserves — a proper service and resting place that honors his spirit and the joy he brought into our lives.
Our goal is to raise £15,000 to cover the funeral, burial, and related expenses. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and help our family during this painful time. Sharing this fundraiser with friends and loved ones would also mean so much to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support. Your help will allow us to honor Damilola properly and give him the peaceful farewell he deserves.
May our brother rest in eternal peace, and may his love for music, dancing, and life continue to inspire us every day.
With love and gratitude,
Rebecca & Family
