Eagle Project for Kids w/ Special Needs
My name is Daniel Penney, I am a “Life Scout” in Troop 126, Woodland Hills, CA. I am working on my Eagle Scout Project - installing a sensory path at Justice Street Elementary School in West Hills, CA. The goal for this project is to give back to the teachers and aides who helped me navigate through my diagnosis of Autism and ADHD and offer a resource and activity to benefit children just like me.
A sensory path gives children directed "play" that stimulates visual processing, sensory integration, and gross motor skill development, while reinforcing academic basics such as identifying colors, numbers, letters, shapes, and symbols. Plus, it makes a great rainy day activity for all students!
The installation of my project will take place June 14-16. If you are interested in volunteering on the installation day, please let me know. (Email my dad at [email redacted])
*NOTE - When making a donation, you are not required to enter a “tip”even though it looks like it. You should be able to over write the amount in the “tip” field to 0.00.
