Hello everyone. That’s what my brother would say in the manliest voice he could muster every time he entered a room. He would immediately capture everyone’s attention and guide them through whatever crazy tale he came up with in his head. He had a laugh that would compel you to join him and a smile that would make you forget your worries.

Dan loved to help people; it was his passion. He started helping people by enlisting in the Marines, then donating blood twice a week, then picking up a job at a nonprofit, volunteering his time to mentor at risk youth and young adults. He’d introduce himself to anyone he could and go out of his way to help them better themselves. His hugs were tight enough that you’d feel his love directly with every second you found yourself wrapped in his embrace.

On Tuesday, September 12th, I felt his embrace for the last time. On Friday, September 15th, Dan passed away. We were all shocked to hear the news. He had so much vision and passion for God and was full of life. He left behind his wife, Tracy, and two beautiful daughters, Nirvana and Aviana.

Unfortunately, the VA says we aren’t guaranteed any financial assistance either for living expenses or the funeral. We want to be able to give his family and friends a chance to say goodbye one last time. The money from this fundraiser will go towards the funeral and anything left over will be to helping Tracy through the difficulty of being a widowed mother of 2. Any donations help and are greatly appreciated.
