The Family
Daniel and Julieta have been married for 13 years. Their love for family brought them to Anchorage, Alaska back in 2007 from San Salvador, El Salvador. They have two young boys, Andre (4th grade) and Ian (Kindergarten). They are surrounded by extended family, loved ones, and friends in Anchorage. They are a hard working Anchorage family that lives, works, and plays in our community and state. Daniel works at Charlie's Produce and Julieta works for the Anchorage School District. Both boys are students in the Anchorage School District and attend Government Hill Elementary School.
The Diagnosis
Daniel has been fighting various health challenges over the past 7 years. Back in 2013 he received his first diagnosis of a brain tumor. Over the years he has endured brain surgery to remove various tumors, cancer diagnosis, chemo, radiation, and various other life altering chapters. He is a fighter who has endured and overcome. His most recent diagnosis is osteosarcoma, which is bone cancer, stage 4. The doctors are saying this is terminal and giving Daniel the hard news that no husband and father ever wants to hear. Daniel, with the love and support from his friends and family, are going to try and get a 2nd opinion and look for ways to fight this. They have hope in doing everything possible.
The Opportunity
The money donated to this GoFundMe will go towards medical bills, travel cost to and from MD Anderson in Houston, Texas and Anchorage, Alaska. It will help with living expenses while in Houston for appointments and treatments. It will also help pay bills while Daniel and Julieta may be unable to work. This will allow the family to maintain normalcy for their children, Andre and Ian during this turbulent time.
