Daniel is a beloved son, boyfriend, friend, family member, and father to three wonderful daughters (yes, THREE!).

He is also part of the A.O.C. restaurant family (GOMEZ!!!) in Los Angeles.

Daniel is in quite a predicament.  He is not too keen on asking for money, so we are going to do it for him (we got your back, brother!).

Daniel bravely agreed to share his story with us.

Daniel was first diagnosed in 2012 with renal cell carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer found mostly in older ages (over 40).  So for him to get that type of cancer at 27 was pretty rare.

Doctors removed his kidney and cancer mass as a preventative treatment.  He was in remission for two years.  In 2014, he had a reoccurrence when the renal cell carcinoma moved to a lymph node in his left lung.  Since then, he has been in and out of treatments, taking chemotherapy in pill form, immuno therapy, and radiation.

During treatments, he has been limited at work or just not able to work at all because of side effects.

Daniel said the hard part is being limited at home when spending time with his family.

State disability usually only pays about half of one's normal income.  Daniel has been living off credit during these times, struggling to stay afloat with all the debt.

When Daniel has had the chance to get back to work, paying back the debt has been tough.  And trying to pay it back before this next round of treatment was scary for him.

Daniel has tried to downsize his living situation by moving himself and his three daughters in with other family members in hopes to get back on track.

This was all going okay until recently when doctors found out the the cancer moved down to his left kidney, and it has grown at a rapid rate.

He has started a new immuno therapy, which will keep him out of work for one year.

Daniel said this is going to be very hard.

From Daniel: "I feel bad sometimes because I’m the reason why we are in this position, and I’m not one who usually asks for help, but I love my family and it’s about them at this point, not me, and I just want them to be able to live and be happy.  Thanks."

Whether we got $10 or $1,000, you can count on us to help you get through this year and back in front of that hot-as-hell grill at A.O.C.!  You are loved and supported, hermano!

...oh, and don't worry if we surpass $25,000.00.  Remember that Daniel is supporting three daughters--lip gloss and candy can get expensive for a dad!
