On Saturday February 20th my friend and Co-worker Tiffany Dorr and her husband, Daniel Dorr, went to meet a friend for what they thought would be a quick stop. Dan was attacked by the friends dog, in a very unfortunate and unprovoked accident, and sustained severe lacerations to his face and mouth.

Dan was quickly rushed to Portsmouth Emergency Room, where they where able to stop the bleeding and clean his wound. From there he was taken by ambulance to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, where he underwent extensive plastic surgery leaving him with 75 stitches in his mouth, lips and cheeks. Despite the surgeons best efforts, there were several blood vessels affected in the area and blood flow wasn't good.

Tuesday March 2nd Dan had his follow up appointment with the surgeon. The news was not good. The surgery had not taken and Dan now needs AT LEAST 2 more follow up surgeries. The dying tissue around his mouth and lips will need to be removed and then almost immediately after he will be undergoing another extensive reconstructive surgery.

Tiffany and Dan do NOT have Health Insurance. Although Tiffany works 2 jobs, because of the complications with the 1st surgery, Dan has been missing a lot of work, and they are unable to afford the next surgery. The hospital informed them they would need to come up with at least 70% of the cost before the surgery could even be scheduled and time is very much a factor in Dan's recovery.
