Daniel Bielin's World University Games Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hey everyone!
My name is Daniel Bielin and I am a 17-year-old badminton player. I am a former junior national champion and have represented the US junior national team in several international tournaments. Recently, I won the Men’s singles event at the Collegiate National Championships in North Carolina. As a result, I qualified to represent Team USA at the World University Games in Chengdu, China in June 2022.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of recognition and funding for badminton in the United States, I am forced to play out of pocket for the tournament fees and airfare. I have already applied to several sports- and achievement-based scholarships in order to raise the funds. I've also worked at some part-time jobs such as a poll worker and a coach for young badminton students. However, there is still a long way to go before I can cover the total cost.
The World University Games would be a huge opportunity for me to play against the top players in my age group. And of course, it is always an honor to be able to represent Team USA. However, the cost for this tournament is far more expensive than typical international tournaments, so I'll need some financial help. All donations are greatly appreciated!
Thank you all,
Daniel
