Humanitarian Desperately Asking for Humanity

This has not been an easy request for me to make to the world, as I have always been one who helps others (including animals) in need without hesitation. If there has been something I can do to make a positive difference, for anyone, I will and have done it. Therefore, I would like to tell you a little bit about not only me but why I am needing emergency financial assistance.

In the late 1980's, I began working as a veterinary technician which I continued until 1995, when I became pregnant with my beautiful and intelligent daughter. Six weeks after giving birth to her, my employer requested my return to work (UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas). I respectfully declined the offer because I wanted to care for my baby. Her father often worked two jobs to make sure we had enough money to survive. He later became a police officer (which he still is to present).

By 1997, I went back to college in pursuit of my degree in medicine (M.D.), where I transferred with honors and obtained a Scholastic Achievement Award in Biology for science majors. My college education was on a part-time schedule as I was a full-time mom. In 2000, we divorced and I requested primary custody of our daughter, where I became a single parent and returned to work full-time for doctors and as a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Tech.

Unfortunately, my ex-husband did not take much involvement in our daughter's life, so I did my best to be both her mother and father, making a few mistakes along the way, but always with the right intentions and with her best interest as my number one priority.
I'm human, so have flaws and am not perfect. I walked away from college by choice: I chose being the one to raise my daughter versus someone else raising her while attending medical school. I've sacrificed so many things in life because I put my daughter first and you know what? I have no regrets.

In 2008, I chose to pursue the performing arts industry as an actress. After my first experience as an actor I realized that is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I'm not saying it's easy because it is not, but I've never been the type of person to take the easy path in life. In fact, I have received more support from others in the industry than from my own family.

In 2012, both my daughter and I went through the beginning of a very rough time financially, which is where I am still at today. We lost almost everything we owned. My daughter went to live with who she considers to be her stepdad and I moved in with a family member, not fully realizing what I was about to embark upon for the next three years.

I spent the past three years doing everything in my power to help this person medically, physcologically and in regards to their overall healthcare. I referred to and consulted with their doctors, monitored medications, vitals, symptoms, etc. I learned the hard way that you cannot make anyone do anything, even for their own well-being, if they will not make those effort(s) themselfs. Since this was/is a family member, it made the situation that much more difficult.

To make a long story short, it began taking a toll on my own physical and emotional well-being. It became so bad my own doctors strongly advised me to get out of the situation as soon as possible. I knew they were right but how could I walk away from family who had no one else with my qualifications to help? As a result, I ended up in the emergency room twice this year due to extreme stress and high blood pressure that became potentially deadly.

I found a one bedroom apartment for this family member, made all the moving arrangements and got out of that living environment. This was almost one week ago. My dog and I are now staying at an extended-stay hotel, with no money, no furniture in storage and no job as of yet. Kyla (my dog) is not just a dog: She is my emotional therapy animal (yep...PTSD). I gave up almost everything I own, took a three year break from my career in acting and barely any income to care for another human being.

I am asking for donations in the name of humanity and survival. I want my life back, my career back, assistance for my daughter (even though she is not asking for it). My goal is to move out of state (after the first of the new year) and go after my dream, my passion, my future and my own financial independence. My dog and I need food, basic survival necessities, funds to relocate, renew my pharmacy tech certification as a secondary income to acting, stability and last but not least....good health and the pursuit of true happiness.

I know I am not the only human being needing help in this world and know not everyone is in a financial position to help me. Please, at least share this with your contacts, so my need for immediate assistance can reach as many as possible as soon as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read my funding project.
